Pueblo, Colo. – Rocky Mountain Vein Institute (RMVI) is proud to announce that Kristina Sanchez, MD, has earned board certification from the American Board of Phlebology.

RMVI is a network of vein centers that offers total vein care, from the simplest cosmetic problem to the most life-altering condition. Dr Sanchez completed the requisite training, experience, and continuing medical education, and passed the stringent certification examination to become one of eleven board certified phlebologists in Colorado. She is also one of only two women in the state with the credential, and RMVI is the only facility with two double board certified phlebologists in the state of Colorado and Rocky Mountain region.

Simultaneously, Dr. Sanchez was named Medical Director of the RMVI Parker, Colo., facility. Sanchez’ responsibilities include overseeing all patient procedures and treatments, managing staff, and directly administering to patients at the Parker, Colo., facility.

Sanchez brings an extensive background and experience to her new position. She formerly served as Family Practice Physician at the Pueblo Community Health Center, the Southern Colorado Clinic, Urgent Care, as well as the Colorado Mental Health Institute Pueblo. In addition to completing the Phlebology Fellowship at Rocky Mountain Vein Institute, Sanchez holds a B.S. in Biology and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of New Mexico.

“Kristina Sanchez is deserving of her diplomate appointment and it is exciting for us to have her serve as the new Medical Director of our Parker Clinic,” says Gordon F. Gibbs, M.D., Founder and Chief Medical Executive of RMVI. “She’s proven herself a valuable asset to RMVI, and we know that her leadership skills, coupled with her exemplary background are ideally suited to RMVI.”

“RMVI is an exceptional organization that I am thrilled to be a part of it,” says Sanchez. “As Medical Director of our Parker Clinic, I am honored to further the RMVI mission of extraordinary patient-first focus.” RMVI provides patients with diagnosis and treatment for venous disease, resulting in improved quality of life. The minimally invasive procedures are recognized and covered by most health insurances. RMVI is also home to The Diagnostic Center, which tests for venous reflux disease, as well as offering a full spectrum of Peripheral Vascular and Extra-Cranial Cerebrovascular exams and Abdominal Visceral ultrasounds.
