PUEBLO, Colo. – Rocky Mountain Vein Institute (RMVI), a network of vein centers that offer total vein care, announces Founder and Chief Medical Executive Dr. Gordon Gibbs will provide a Lunch and Learn presentation about the causes, prevention and treatment of venous disease at no cost to the public on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Legacy Bank-University Park, located at 730 Desert Flower Blvd.
The presentation, “It’s Not Your Age, It’s Your Veins!” is part of an education outreach series of Lunch and Learn events that share information about the contemporary treatment of venous disease with the public and with referring physicians in the area. To RSVP for the April 3 event, contact Legacy Bank Marketing Director Kerstien Zabukovic via email at [email protected] or by phone at 719-562-1800 ext. 651. Seating for the event is limited.
Gibbs is a Mayo Clinic trained interventional radiologist who is certified in phlebology and board certified in diagnostic radiology and vascular/interventional radiology. He has Diplomate status with the American College of Phlebology, and holds medical licenses in Minnesota, Colorado and Texas. Gibbs is also Medical Director of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo.
“It is common for people to believe that their legs are achy, swollen or tired simply because of age or a job that requires standing all day, but this is a misconception,” says Gibbs. “Although age and standing for long periods of time are a few of the risk factors for developing vein disease, it is not normal to have painful, achy legs. The good news is that vein disease is treatable.”
“Rocky Mountain Vein Institute and Legacy Bank share a common vision of Southern Colorado community involvement, and toward that goal Legacy Bank serves as a support resource to the RMVI medical facility, which is dedicated to comprehensive vascular care for its patients,” says Zabukovic. “Legacy Bank believes that when you support local business, everyone wins.”
