PUEBLO, Colo. – Rocky Mountain Vein Institute & The Diagnostic Center (RMVI), a network of vein diagnosis and treatment centers in Colorado and Texas, announces a change in name to American Vein & Vascular Institute. The company will migrate existing clinics to the new American Vein & Vascular Institute name over the next six months and will be fully transitioned by Aug. 1, 2014. Any new facility opened by the company will be known as American Vein & Vascular Institute.
The change in name recognizes the company’s maturity and commitment to a total vein care experience, with alignment of the company’s Texas location (Trinity Vein Institute & The Diagnostic Center), Colorado facilities (Rocky Mountain Vein Institute & The Diagnostic Center) and management group (RMVI Services).
Including “Vein & Vascular” in the new name also highlights the value and unique positioning of the company’s diagnostic expertise housed within The Diagnostic Center, as American Vein & Vascular Institute has expanded its services for identifying, treating and managing vein and arterial issues.
The name change to American Vein & Vascular Institute comes upon the heels of a recent corporate restructuring involving new additions to the management team and a focus on four lines of management service, including: Financial Services, Strategic Services, Clinic Services, and Compliance & Regulatory Services.
Chief Medical Officer Gordon F. Gibbs, M.D., and his wife, Erin Reilly Gibbs, co-founded RMVI in 2009, RMVI Services in 2010, and TVI in Arlington, Texas in 2012. Their company began with three employees and now employs almost 50. Best Vein Care has designated Rocky Mountain Vein Institute as a “Premier Center of Excellence,” and The Diagnostic Centers in the Colorado cities of Pueblo, Canon City, Parker, and Vail Valley, as well as in Arlington, Texas are all accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), which places them among the best for vascular diagnosis.
“Our multidisciplinary approach to vascular care, with doctors, non-physician practitioners, and expert vascular sonographers, all come together to create a team approach to the diagnosis and treatment of vein and arterial disease,” says Dr. Gibbs. “With our state-of-the-art electronic health records, highest quality ultrasound equipment and evidence-based approach, we are mirroring the cost-effective model of health care delivered by larger, integrated hospital networks. Our name change to American Vein & Vascular Institute better reflects this expanded business model.”
A Mayo Clinic trained interventional radiologist, Dr. Gibbs is a fellowship trained and board certified vascular interventional radiologist and diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. He holds medical licenses in Minnesota, Colorado and Texas. A philanthropist and sought-after speaker and instructor, Gibbs is also Medical Director of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo. He serves on the faculty for Covidien Vascular and educates new and experienced physicians in contemporary treatment of venous disease.
“We started off modestly in Pueblo, Colorado,” says CEO Erin Gibbs, “and the growth, strength and development of The Diagnostic Center as the core of our patient care model highlights our tailored approach in a unique environment where diagnosis and discovery led to amazing patient outcomes and expanded understanding of the treatment of venous disease. As the American Vein & Vascular Institute, we can offer more to referring physicians and the patients entrusted to us.”
CEO Erin Gibbs has played central roles in the development of innovative services and educational content in the healthcare industry. Before founding RMVI Services, she helped MayoClinic.com launch its first edition website and produced the first online video health library as well as online text and interactive health content. She led the opening of all of RMVI’s clinics including RMVI’s Diagnostic Center, and initiated creation of The Compression Center, an innovative approach within each clinic for conservative treatment of vein disease using the latest in compression technology.
