Cosmetic Center – Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a cosmetic vein treatment?
A: Cosmetic veins can be treated in a number of ways. Our preferred method of treatment is with the use of sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy is commonly used to assist with the elimination of spider veins and small surface veins by injecting a solution directly into the vein. This can decrease and often eliminate the visibility of the spider vein. However, it is not always a permanent cure—there may be a greater venous problem whose symptoms include the presence of spider veins.
Q: Does insurance cover cosmetic treatments?
A: Most insurance carriers consider certain treatments, including spider vein, cosmetic in nature and will not cover them.
