Erin Gibbs, Founder & Owner Erin Reilly Gibbs and her husband, Gordon F. Gibbs, MD, opened the doors of American Vein & Vascular Institute on Jan 1, 2010 in Pueblo, Colorado. The network of vein and arterial centers grew to seven locations with more than 50 employees in Colorado by 2015, in addition to development of a top practice management company by the same name of the clinics and health retail company, The Compression Center. Gibbs, MD, opened the doors of American Vein & Vascular Institute (formerly Rocky Mountain Vein Institute), on Jan 1, 2010 in Pueblo, Colorado. The network of vein and arterial centers grew to seven locations with more than 50 employees in Colorado and Texas by 2015, in addition to development of a top practice management company by the same name of the clinics and health retail company, The Compression Center. Erin holds a master’s degree from Stanford University and prior to American Vein & Vascular Institute, Erin spent almost a decade at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN – helping launch the first edition consumer information website (Oasis.com and MayoClinic.com) and producing the stories and experiences of patients and patient care through online video, text and interactive health content for the institution. A 20-year career in journalism and media combined with her husband’s skill and dedication to the science of healing came together to form a successful entrepreneurial partnership and leadership role within this groundbreaking company. Erin was nominated in 2013 and 2016 for the esteemed ATHENA award that honors professional excellence, community service and leadership skills. Under Erin’s leadership, American Vein & Vascular Institute is a multi-year winner of ColoradoBiz Magazine’s Top 100 Women-Owned Companies. Erin regularly contributes personal time and support to the activities of her three children, four horses, two hamsters and beloved dog and cat. She sits on the Advisory Board for Legacy Bank and is Co-Chair for the Annual Silent Auction benefitting the American College of Phlebology Foundation. Erin is a past-board member of CSU Pueblo Foundation and St. Mary Corwin Medical Center Board. Erin and her husband contribute time and financial support to numerous community and arts nonprofit organizations. Erin’s dedication to women in leadership and women in business has also led to American Vein & Vascular Institute’s participation in the Colorado Business Women’s Chamber of Commerce, the National Women’s Health Week, the Greater Pueblo Chamber and Pueblo Chieftain Business & Lifestyle Expo, and Vail Valley’s annual Heart Health Expo. Erin and her staff have been published and featured in a number of healthcare and regional publications, including Healthcare Financial Management Magazine, ColoradoBiz Magazine, MD News, Vein Therapy News, Vail Daily and In Pueblo magazine, and other media outlets including television’s “Good Morning Vail.”
