COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — American Vein & Vascular Institute, an award-winning network of vein and arterial diagnosis and treatment centers, is pleased to announce the successful launch of its medical tray donation program. The program was created as a way to recycle surplus medical materials and convert them into usable assets that benefit children in need.

American Vein has so far donated medical trays and syringes to Prairie Heights Elementary School in Colorado Springs’ Hanover District, Broadmoor Elementary School, the D12 Schools in Colorado Springs, and HaitiChildren, a U.S. based non-profit organization dedicated to providing care and education to abandoned, orphaned and disabled children in Haiti.

“Thanks to American Vein’s generosity, we were able to repurpose medical trays as serving trays for our bi-monthly community gatherings that attract 500 people for church and lunch,” says Susie Krabacher, founder of HaitiChildren. “The trays have sped up the process of feeding so many people at the same time!”

Another valuable use for the repurposed trays can be seen at Prairie Heights, where they are currently being used for arts and crafts projects. American Vein has completed two rounds of donations, in spring 2016 and 2017, and is still saving trays to be donated again once they are requested.

“We are grateful for this opportunity to give back to the community,” says Erin Gibbs, co-founder and owner of American Vein & Vascular Institute. “Our tray donation program is a great way to repurpose medical materials and give them new life as educational resources. We are proud of the results thus far, and plan to keep this going.”

American Vein & Vascular Institute believes that good health and well-being are vital to a life well lived, and that the journey to reach a goal is just as important as the outcome.
