PUEBLO, Colo. – American Vein & Vascular Institute, a network of vein diagnosis and treatment centers in Colorado and Texas, welcomes its newest employee, Mary Ontiveros-Otero, to the staff as the Pueblo Clinic medical receptionist.

Ontiveros-Otero is fluent in both spoken and written Spanish, and, as the first-American Vein & Vascular Institute-professional patients meet, she will play a vital role in assisting Spanish speaking patients to communicate and understand their vein and vascular care. Her vast experience and her community involvement has gained her the ability to comfortably teach, conduct business and translate in a multitude of circumstances.

“We have enjoyed a significant presence in the Hispanic/Latino market in southern Colorado for some time,” says American Vein & Vascular Institute CEO Erin Gibbs.

“Hiring Mary demonstrates our commitment to serving the Latino market at a grassroots level. It is not just important to American Vein & Vascular Institute, but critical to give level-one care to anyone who needs it. Mary is an active member in our local community. Her engaging presence as the face of our Pueblo clinic gives those who may not speak English the confidence needed to get exceptional medical treatment.

Prior to accepting the position at American Vein & Vascular Institute, Ontiveros-Otero was a Spanish translator for Pueblo County District 70, where she translated at various county schools during parent-teacher conferences. In May 2013, she became the Colorado Parent Teacher Association Vice President and oversaw meetings, fundraisers and budgets for the organization in Pueblo County. In May 2002, she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado State University-Pueblo.
